Fundraising

Ladies Night
Once again this very popular night proved a huge success, with over a 100 tickets sold, we raised a total of £824.00, which is fantastic, so well done to everyone who attended.  Thank you to Lorna, Karen McMillan, Victoria, Angela, Gillian Barrett & Karen Lapsley for all your help before and on the night.  If I have missed anyone out, I apologise, old age is catching up with me!!!

A big thank you also goes to Karen McMillan who managed to get matched funding from her work, Halifax Bank of Scotland of £500.00. Wonderful!!!

Summer Trip
88 of us headed down to Heads of Ayr on the 15th August.  This was a fantastic day out, the weather was unkind at times but considering the weather we have had, it wasn’t too bad really.  We managed to secure a grant of £200.00 to pay towards the cost of the transport so this was fantastic and really helped to keep the costs down.  I hope you all enjoyed it too!

Mums Night out
We are having a night out to Café Mao in Merchant City in Glasgow on Friday the 19th September.  If you are able to come along, then please add your name to the form on the notice board or let either myself or Sue Martin know asap.  The Community Bus has been booked to take us folks from East Kilbride or close vicinity there and back so if you wish to travel on the bus you can let me know.

Karaoke/Disco Night
Before the Ladies Night had came to a close, I had people hounding me to arrange another Karaoke Night, so I do not like to disappoint so this has been booked for Friday the 24th October at 8pm at the Murray Owen Centre.  Tickets will be priced at £5 to cover costs, it will be bring your own bottle as usual BUT THIS WILL NOT BE A FUNDRAISING NIGHT, I just want everyone to let their hair down and enjoy themselves.  Again we will be looking for you to sell tickets to your friends and family.  Tickets will be on sale at a later date.

AGM – Sunday 9th November
Probably the most important news is that the current Committee Members are due to stand down.  Therefore we will be looking for a new Chairperson, Treasurer and a Secretary.  If anyone is interested in taking on one of these roles, please speak to Jacqueline, Lorna or Karen for any information.

Hamper
Last year we made up a Luxury Hamper, which we raffled off at our Anniversary Party.  This was a huge success and we raised £900.00.  Every member donated £5 and I went shopping and bought lots of fab items to go into the hamper.  It is therefore my intention to do another hamper, this time to be drawn at the Xmas party.   I will therefore be hoping that everyone will once again be in a position to donate £5 towards this.  This will be my last contribution towards fundraising, other than attending and enjoying the Ladies Nights for a change, hee hee.

Xmas Party – Sunday 14th Dec 4pm – 6pm
It is that time again to start thinking about our Xmas Party.  If anyone has any suggestions, they would be very much appreciated.

Lunches
There are a few blank spaces on the lunch rota, If you feel that your Children are now at an age that you are able to assist with these duties once in a while, your help will be very much appreciated.  Please add your name to the list against a date that you will be able to assist.
